I sauntered into Maddox’s bedroom in hopes of finding him but he was nowhere to be found. I was about to leave his room but the curtains shielding his balcony blowing softly to the tunes of the wind caught my attention.
A smile instantly birthed on my lips and I eagerly strode to the balcony. There he was bare-chested, standing by the veranda enjoying the night view of the Pack. My eyes were briefly glued to the scars on his back. He barely showed them and the fact that he allowed his back to be out in the open instigated a bit of worry in me.
I strode to his side. “Hey,” my voice almost trailed a whispery path. He shot me a smile.
“Hey,” he happily replied.
“What are you doing?”
He exhaled deeply while he stared into the starry night. “Just thinking about everything.”
“I used to think the moon goddess hated me,” he continued. “With everything that happened, I thought I had committed a crime and I was simply getting punished for it. I thought I didn’t deserve to be Alph
