“What do you think?” I asked Maddox, both of us were seated together on a wooden seat before a lake under the beautiful gaze of the moonlight.
He wore a tiny smile, his eyes glued to the white ducks padding on the gentle waters causing tiny waves of silver ripples.
“It’s perfect…” he mumbled and a smile crept to my lips. It soothed me seeing him smile again but it still concerned me what was really going with him.
“My Gramps and I used to come here often,” my smile deepened as I focused on the ducks happily paddling. “We had so many memories here. We laughed together, cried together, sometimes we even argued.” I chuckled. “This place was our own little world cut off from the rest of the world. It was our comfort area.”
I glanced at him only to realize he had been staring at me all along, paying close attention to me.
“I might not be able to make flowers glow and butterflies dance around you but I hope this place can work its magic on you,” I whispered loud enough for him
