Desiree. “Gertrude!” I chirped as I opened my room’s door. She wore a worried look as she inched closer to me and before I could spill any more words she checked my forehead with the back of her right palm. “I’m fine, Gertrude,” I shot her a smile and she heaved a sigh of relief. “We can’t take any chances, We were worried sick about you yesterday.” she softly said. “Of course, It would be bad for the Pack if the rumored savior suddenly collapsed.” She shook her head in denial. “I assure you, that was the last thing that crossed the Alpha and his family’s minds. Alpha Maddox didn’t leave your side for a second. He wasn’t himself…it’s been a long time any of us has ever seen him that way before.” A sad smile crept to my lips while my mind traveled to last night.
