“The sickness is still spreading around, Alpha,” The Pack doctor said before me, she and Willis were seated before me by my desk in my office. This was certainly not the news I was hoping to start my morning with but then again, this was the ugly reality of my Pack, it was slowly dying.
“Throughout your two weeks absence, the death rate increased and we kept admitting more people. At this rate, I fear that we might run out of space in our hospitals,” she continued while she passed me a report. One I couldn’t bring myself to open. It would only break me further to read a report regarding my dying Pack members.
“You’re still unable to find a temporary solution?” I asked as I dropped the file on my desk.
“Not at all.” She shook her head. “As the Chief Elder said, this is a spiritual problem and our only hope for survival rests solely on our Luna.”
