Valine locked the door as soon as she entered the safety of her room and leaned against it. Her heart was hammering in her chest due to running—as though she were being pursued—and how anxious she was. She unfolded the paper while her hands were trembling and read the words. And no matter how long she looks at it, the words are the same. This time, much to her dismay, she wasn't having a delusion. It ought to have calmed her down, thrilled her, and made her feel better, but she wasn't feeling any of those things at the moment.
This time around, Rouges are involved. She was well-versed in rouges. They were wolves who had lost their human side, which had caused them to grow mad and demented.
They had just a primitive desire to hunt and kill. In other words, they had lost all sense of humanity. They can subdue a small pack when they strike in groups. Over time, though, something changes.
