I pushed the chip into the dip and scooped up as much of the salsa goodness I could and stuck it into my mouth, sighing delightfully. I leaned back in the recliner, picking up the remote and flicking through the channels until I found a reality show of a group of competing beauty queens flashed on the screen. Satisfied with my choice, I picked up another chip and scooped up more salsa.
My Friday couldn’t be any more perfect. The house was dead quiet. No one was annoying me, and I got to enjoy my snacks and TV time by myself.
My heart tugged a little when my thoughts drifted to Azzy. They still hadn’t found her, and I was growing increasingly worried about her.
It was for that exact reason I didn’t sleep well last night. I tossed and turned, trying to come up with an idea of where she might be. But, what bothered me the most. Was she even still alive?
No. I refused to go there. They would find her. Dante would find her.
