Lights Out
Training was all kinds of hell. Dante didn’t hold back today, not even a little. He pushed me harder than before, and when I dared to sit down for a second, he’d walk over and force me back up.
The only good thing that came out of this was that Dante made Jace and Liam clean up the oily mess, which I couldn’t wait to retell to Anabelle.
“I can’t.” I dropped the weights I was holding, panting for breath. “Everything hurts and I feel like I’m about to pass out.”
I sank to the floor, slumping with my back against one of the workout machines. “I’m not kidding. The world is starting to spin,” I whined. I wasn’t lying. This was my breaking point.
Dante sighed, dropping his weights to the floor and walking over to me.
“Forget it. You’re going to put me in the infirmary if you keep at it.”
To my surprise, he didn’t force me up again. Instead, he scooped me up from the floor and crossed the room toward the door.
