KADE’S POV
“Oatmeal, plain eggs, tofu, avocados—”
“And blue cheese!” Luca piped in.
“Yeah,” Matteo nodded seriously. “And blue cheese. We hate blue cheese.”
I nodded, my expression just as serious as Matteo’s, as I listened intently to all the foods the twins hated. “And blue cheese, got it.”
Andrea snickered behind her hands, and I glanced at her. “What?”
She shrugged, her hazel eyes dancing brightly. “Nothing.”
I raised a brow at her, and she dropped her hand, revealing a full, bright smile that made my heart skip a beat. “Just…” She shrugged again. “This is nice.”
‘Nice’ was an understatement. The four of us were at the dining table, having a breakfast of pancakes and scrambled—not plain—eggs.
My grandfather had come in earlier, taken a glance at the scene—at Luca perched on my lap, using whipped cream to give me a fake beard, at the twins’ dinosaur-shaped pancakes swimming in a sea of syrup—huffed, and walked right out.
And I was glad for it. I didn’t need him and his archaic attit
