VALERIA’S POV
Alpha Dimitri was being cautious—too cautious. Every word he spoke, every piece of information he gave me, was measured and calculated. It was clear he wasn’t giving me the full picture, only enough to keep me engaged and answer my immediate questions without revealing too much.
The papers and photographs he had handed me earlier were spread across the desk in front of me. Some of them were ancient-looking, with faded text and illustrations, while others were modern notes and diagrams. It was a lot to process, and it took me hours to sift through them. By the time I was halfway through, my head was spinning, and I realized I had barely scratched the surface.
Most of what I read was about Moonbound wolves—their history, their supposed powers, and the myths surrounding them. But that was the problem—it was all myths. So much of it was inaccurate, exaggerated, or downright wrong. How they came into being, what their purpose was, even their so-called weaknesses—it didn’t matc
