MAGNAR’S POV
It was well past midnight, and the silence in the packhouse was suffocating. I leaned against the wall outside the meeting room, my arms crossed, my thoughts racing. My father had been in there with Valeria for hours, and I couldn’t shake the unease that had settled over me since they disappeared behind those soundproof walls.
I had tried everything—pacing the hallway, sharpening my hearing to pick up any hint of their conversation, but it was useless. Whatever they were discussing, my father had made sure it would remain a secret.
What the hell could they possibly be talking about for this long?
My wolf was restless, pacing in the back of my mind. He wasn’t used to being kept in the dark, and neither was I. The very idea of my father and Valeria locked in that room, discussing something I wasn’t privy to, was driving me insane.
