VALERIA’S POV
The office was empty.
I had waited for this moment for days.
Dimitri was gone, dragged away by his Luna for some fake romantic getaway, and the security cameras were still down. I had double-checked before stepping inside.
This was my chance.
I moved quickly, my hands gliding over the massive oak desk where he always sat, his scent still lingering in the air. The files he usually worked on were neatly stacked on top, but I already knew those were just decoys.
Dimitri was smart—too smart.
Whatever he was hiding, he didn’t want anyone to find it.
I yanked open the drawers one by one, sifting through papers, contracts, and useless reports on border security and rogue activity. All things a typical Alpha would care about.
