Meanwhile, across town, Miguel paced his office, his phone buzzing incessantly. He ignored the calls, his mind focused solely on the impending meeting with Karina. A knock at the door startled him.
"Come in," he called, his voice tense.
His assistant, Sarah, entered cautiously. "Mr. Eladio, I'm sorry to disturb you, but there are several people here demanding to see you. Business associates, board members... they're all asking about the engagement and the leaked documents."
Miguel ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident on his face. "Tell them I'm in an important meeting and can't be disturbed. And Sarah? Hold all my calls for the rest of the night."
Sarah nodded, hesitating before adding, "Sir, if you don't mind me saying... are you alright? This whole situation seems to be taking a toll on you."
Miguel's expression softened slightly. "I appreciate your concern, Sarah. It's... complicated. But I'm handling it."
