Chapter 16 MISTAKEN IDENTITY

VEGA For some weeks, Vega had been having the feeling that someone was on her tail. She wondered if it was Reynold, but he wasn't someone who would keep things secret, if he wanted her, he would always make his intentions known. Her mind also drifted to her sister Victoria, but then, Victoria was also someone who didn't do things in hiding, which brought her to the conclusion that whoever was trailing her must not be someone familiar. Working at the company wasn't smooth either because she had to deal with jealous ladies daily, but she's come to be very used to her new life. She no longer felt bad when she was being accused innocently. Vega was on her way back from a magazine shoot when she heard someone yelling at the top of her voice. She immediately froze, there was only one person who had such a sharp voice as far as she was concerned. Immediately she hastened her steps to confirm her suspicions, and there she was, Victoria, shouting at the receptionist for telling her to call whomever she came to visit. Victoria refused to do as she was told but rather yelled at the receptionist for not treating her with respect. How funny can she be? Respect is earned, not forced from people. Victoria always liked bossing people around wherever she went. The goddess must be helping her by bringing Victoria to her just as she wanted, she thought. Ever since she found out about Victoria's infidelity, she had been investigating options for getting in touch with her, but it proved abortive. "Why will you say you have no idea who I am?" "She's the Luna." Vega immediately cut her short in her presence. Victoria seemed taken aback seeing her, she opened her eyes wide in surprise, her finger still pointing at the receptionist. "Look who I found, the prodigal sister." This made everyone gasp, the receptionist stared at the both of them in horror while the others whispered curses at Vega, but she didn't mind. "Why are you here?" Vega asked boldly with her hands crossed over her chest. "Of course, to see the bitch of a sister I have." Another gasp echoed in the hall, and Vega seemed to be getting a little uncomfortable. "If you are here to rain insults on me, then we might as well do it in a secluded area." Victoria scoffed at her. "You must not want everyone here to see the bitchy side of you, I guess." She smirked, seeing how the hall was getting crowded, she began raining more curses at her. It's very obvious that Victoria came just to humiliate her in the company. She should have known that whoever was tailing her was sent by Victoria. Victoria reluctantly followed her to a vacant room, far from earshot. "So, tell me why you sent someone to stalk me." "You don't get to ask me questions, Vega!" Victoria yelled at her. As usual, she should have known that Victoria would never change. "Why did you go to my mate's company?" Victoria asked, looking very pissed. This only made Vega chuckle, how ruthless Victoria can be. "Your mate? You still consider him your mate? Really!?" "You clearly took him from me, but you are bold enough to tell me he's your mate?" "You must be idiotic Vega, you think he would have acknowledged you as his mate? Dream on!" Victoria said, with a scoff. This was Victoria's specialty, she's good at making her feel inferior, even though she had been the one behaving inferior all these years. "You know, I thought you left the pack for good, so why did you come back!?" "Of course I know, you wanted to stake your claim, that's why you showed up at his company, right?" How foolish Victoria was right now, she had no idea she was still safe because she decided to keep shut about everything that's been happening. How could someone be this ungrateful when she knew fully well what would happen when the truth ever came to light? "You should be grateful, Victoria, you should be thanking me." Victoria laughed badly, to the point where tears started coming out of her eyes. "Grateful? We all know you don't have the balls to tell on your family, or can you?" Victoria asked, still laughing hard. For the first time in six years, Jackie became enraged as she tried to take control, but Vega was excellent at controlling the anger of her wolf. "Get out of here, Victoria, I don't ever want to see you in front of me again!" How sad it was to realise Victoria was taking her kindness for granted, all because she knew her weak point was that she would never put her family in harm's way, but this was far too much. "Who wants to see you? I'm warning you to stay away from my mate, he's mine and not yours!" Victoria would never go without winning the last argument, but she's so not getting it this time. "Does he know you have found your mate?" Victoria froze, she instantly turned around and marched towards her in anger. "How dare you have me investigated!?" Vega could see Victoria's wolf about to take over, her fangs came out, and her eyes changed colour. Good! So she had been right all along when she suspected the man was her mate. "You know that it is not in the nature of a werewolf to be unfaithful to their mate." "I left him for you because I thought you loved him, but it turns out all you ever wanted was fame!" This angered Victoria even more, she raised her hands to give her a slap, but Vega was fast enough to hold her hands away from her face. "Don't you dare try that Victoria, I'm no longer the Vega you know. If you try hitting me again, I will give you pain!" Vega pushed Victoria out of her way before storming out of the room. Victoria gasped in horror, she couldn't believe Vega had become so bold over the years. This was frightening, what if she told on her now that she had made her angry? No, no, Vega wouldn't do that; she cared so much for her family, she guessed. Hell no, she couldn't put Vega's thoughts on probability; she had to do something very fast before things went terribly bad for her. Just as she was coming out of the room, she ran into Aria, Reynold's sister. Damn. How could she have been so stupid as not to remember that Aria worked here? "Hello, cutie." Victoria said putting on a fake smile even though she was feeling very nervous. Aria was a Lycan and as such it didn't take long for her to figure out that Victoria was hiding something. "Why are you here?" "Uhm, to see you, of course." Victoria lied as she walked up to her to give her a hug. This was very, very strange, Aria thought. Never in their existence has Victoria ever cared about what she did. Strangely enough, there was no reason why she would come see her, she had been seeing her more often in the company now, but she hadn't gotten the time to ask her why she was here. Telling her that she came to see her was a blatant lie, but Aria decided to play along with Victoria. She definitely would not let things slide at this rate. Once she discovered what Victoria was up to, she would immediately make it known to her brother with immediate effect. After Victoria had left, Aria decided to visit Mr. Graham. "Hello little Star." Mr. Graham said, which made her smile. This was a name he had created for her ever since she came to the company, and the name had become her stage name. Graham was the Delta to the blue stone pack, unlike the others who flirted in the entertainment industry, he wasn't interested in any of those, even though he was being crushed on by many. Sometimes she wondered why he still hadn't gotten a mate yet. "Uhm, can I ask you a question, Mr. Graham?" Aria was being meticulous in order not to give herself away because up until now, no one knew her identity as the Lycan King's sister or a princess. "I'm all ears." He said, sitting up straight on his office chair. "Uhm, do you know about Victoria Reynold Flames? The Luna to the Alpha King?" Mr. Graham seemed to be thinking hard about her question. "I know of the Lycan king and also the fact that he's got a Luna, though I don't really know her in person, she's not in the entertainment industry, so I'm not really familiar with her." This must be the reason, but what baffled her was that she had been coming to their company often, or could it be that Mr. Graham was hiding something from her? It couldn't be, he's not that type of person. She quickly brought out her phone and searched for a photo of Victoria. "Maybe you might know her if you see a photo of her." Aria said showing Graham Victoria's photo on her phone. Graham seemed taken aback, his face suddenly became pale. "Are you in any way saying she is the Luna, I mean the Queen of the Lycan King!?" Graham asked, looking very surprised. Aria seemed perplexed by his reaction. "Have you met her before, perhaps?" "She works here, as an upcoming model," Graham blurted out. "What!?" Did she just hear Mr. Graham right? Victoria, an upcoming model? "Where can I find her Mr. Graham?" Aria asked anxiously. "She must be in the training room," Graham said, still looking very shocked at the news he just received. Aria immediately ran to the training room she was said to be in. Getting into the room, she perceived the smell of roses, the scent in some way made her feel comfortable. Who on earth smelled this nice? She must be an exceptional wolf, because she heard only a special she-wolf had a scent that could calm the nerves of an anxious or nervous werewolf. Aria looked ahead, only to find Victoria in the room. What the hell! Since when did she start smelling like roses? Aria asked herself. "Since when did you start taking lessons on becoming a model? And does my brother know about this?" Aria asked in one go, to a confused-looking Vega. "Excuse me, are you talking to me?" Aria looked so pissed. So she's going to start acting innocent now? She wondered what went on in the head of her brother's so-called mate. "I think you should leave. Otherwise, I'm telling him you are here, to disrupt my peace!" Aria said before storming out of the room. Vega became extremely perplexed at what had just happened. Just what was she talking about? She thought seeing the famous model in person would be worthwhile, but as it turned out, things wouldn't be getting any easier for her. But what was she talking about telling her brother she was here to disrupt her peace? What brother was she talking about? This was all confusing for her. Vega decided to pause her practise and visit Mr. Graham. She had to know what was going on and how it became related to her. "Hello Mr. Graham. Can I have a word with you please?" Vega asked. She couldn't help but notice the paleness of Mr. Graham. What is wrong with everyone today? First it was her sister Victoria, then it was the famous model, and now it's Mr. Graham? "Is something wrong? I mean if you are not in the mood to talk, I can come back some other time." Vega said about to leave Mr. Graham's office. "It's not my intention to be silent, your Highness." "What!? Your Highness?"
