Chapter 50 Alex 's Fury

Jane walked towards her office in frustration, picked up her phone, and checked the time..it was 4:40 PM. She decided to call Jake to set up a time for their meeting. She picked up her phone and dialed Jake 's number. After a while, the call connected. Jake saw it was Jane 's number, and he instantly became more alert despite being woken from sleep. "Jane, have you finished with today's work?" "Yeah, I got off early today. What's up? Were you sleeping?" Jane could hear the laziness in his voice and she couldn't help but ask. "Um, I just returned to the country and haven't adjusted to the time difference yet. Give me five minutes, and I'll come to pick you up," Jake said gently, trying to suppress his sleepiness. "There's no rush. If you're tired, you should sleep a bit more," Jane said. She could hear his fatigue and didn't want to trouble him too much. "It's fine, I'll be there soon. So, bye..." Jake said. Then he hung up the phone, got up, and took a shower to shake off h
