The Rescue

The rope was very coarse and rough; hence, it was difficult to untie it. Sigrid's hands began hurting as they rubbed against the rope.  When they finally untied the rope, they could hear some commotion outside the door.  Startled, the two of them immediately stuck the tape back in place. They hid both their hands as well as the untied rope behind their back.  A well-built, tall, and fierce-looking man walked into the room.  Everyone started shaking like a leaf when they saw him.  He glanced around to check if there was anything fishy going on. Then, he threatened, "Behave yourself! There's another half an hour before the ship arrives at the docks. If you don't want to be punished, you'd better listen to us!" Many girls began to wail while trembling.
