Chapter 29 : An Apology

Circe meandered around the halls, not sure where to go. Despite everyone she loved besides her parents being present in the house–even her chosen mate–she felt she didn't belong. She forced a laugh at the irony of her situation.
In desperately trying to find a place to be by having the witch cast the spell, she had inadvertently pushed herself out of every place she could have been welcome. It took all she had to keep the tears from falling again.
"Circe?" Mae called from the top of the stairs.
Circe turned to look at her. Of course, Mae would look more radiant than ever now that she was officially mated and marked by Henry. The bite seemed to shimmer and glow on her collarbone, only partly covered by her loose tank top. "Are you okay?"
