An Allergy
Early in the morning, Regan personally prepared and went to check on Hazel. When he saw that she was still asleep, he didn't wake her up but just sat by her side.
Luckily, he took the medicine in advance. Although it couldn't stop his coughing, it helped to relieve his throat so that he wouldn't cough in front of Hazel.
