After Viktor left, Nina let out a bitter laugh as she looked down at her abdomen. Her body ached so badly, and cold sweat poured from her, soaking through her clothes.
After a moment of hesitation, her trembling fingers finally settled on her abdomen. It was still flat, and she couldn't even feel the tiny life inside her that was about to slip away.
"You knew you weren't welcome, so you gave up, didn't you?" Nina murmured with a wry smile. "Good. If you had actually been born, that would've been the worst mistake."
She couldn't even protect herself, so how was she supposed to protect a child?
"Go on. Next time, try to end up with a better family. Don't be so foolish, okay?"
With that, Nina withdrew her hands and forced herself to look out at the blinding sunlight reflecting off the water. Since the baby couldn't be saved, she decided that as soon as the ship docked, she would go straight to a hospital and terminate it.
