At that moment, there was a knock at the door.
Mary entered with a tray of food, smiling politely. "Mr. L asked me to prepare something light for you. The madam has already eaten, so there's no need to save any for her."
When had L given that order? He'd been arguing with Sienna the entire way here.
Sienna accepted the tray reluctantly, her mood still sour.
L spent a long time in the bathroom. She couldn't tell what he was doing in there. When he finally came out, Sienna went in to wash her hands.
As she approached the sink, she noticed an emerald ring left on the counter. It looked like it had been split in half.
Sienna's instincts as a jewelry designer kicked in, and she picked it up for a closer look.
She recalled years ago that a man she saved gave her half a ring as a token of gratitude. At the time, she hadn't thought much of it. After failing a major business deal, she'd returned to Rhodes residence, and within a few days, she lost the ring.
