Chapter 11

William raised his hand, and Sienna stared coldly at the disgusting scumbag in front of her. Her frozen heart still felt a sharp stab of pain. She had given him the best eight years of her life. He once told her he was an illegitimate son of the Sanders family, which made him value family all the more. He had talked about wanting to have many children with her. Yet now, the person standing by his side was Natalie. "I wonder what kind of abomination a scumbag like you and that bitch could create. Sooner or later, you'll both rot in hell!" Sienna shook off his hand and turned to leave. William frowned at this. His eyes still instinctively chased after her slender, aloof silhouette. Natalie noticed his gaze and instantly darkened. There was no way she could let this wretch reclaim the company or seduce William again! … Outside the Fortuna building, Zoe spotted Sienna walking out with a cold expression. She hurried over and asked, "How did it go? Did any shareholders support you?" Sienna shook her head. "Businessmen only care about profits. No one would be foolish enough to offend the Rhodes family right now. But I ruined William's deal today and provoked Natalie into agreeing to a bet." "Well done! What kind of bet?" "It's about next month's provincial jewelry competition. If I win, I'll return to the company as the general manager." "Hell yeah! Hit them where it hurts. Those two losers must be panicking!" Sienna's gaze remained indifferent. "I don't know if they're scared, but none of Fortuna's shareholders believe I can win. They're all backing Natalie and openly mocking me." Zoe clenched her teeth and sneered while pulling out her laptop. "Those old fools have no idea what you're capable of. We have to win! Let me check… "The provincial competition kicks off in October, and the hosting company this time is... Vertex Jewelry. They have the highest-ranking judges..." Zoe abruptly fell silent. Meanwhile, Sienna's face froze, and she turned to glare at Zoe furiously. "Which jewelry company did you just say it was?" Zoe swallowed nervously. "The king of the jewelry world... And also your rival—Vertex Jewelry. They control the competition." The car went silent. Zoe glanced back and saw Sienna's face reddening with anger, her eyes burning with fury. "Isn't Vertex Jewelry the company whose CEO once emailed you, insulting you for having a small chest?" "And I cursed him for being impotent!" "Doesn't that make you even?" Zoe's mouth twitched. "Vertex Jewelry is the industry leader, though. Their boss is a complete mystery. "All we know is that his last name is Lawson, and there's a rumor he's the third son of the powerful Lawson family. Yet you keep picking fights with their company." "You don't understand! This feud started in the previous generation. The Lawsons stole my grandfather's business! And Vertex snatched every single Fortuna bid I've ever worked on. "A few years ago, I even lost a massive deal to them in a neighboring province after saving that hysterical guy. I'll never forget it." "Alright, alright," Zoe said as she listened to Sienna's rant. If the mysterious Mr. Lawson turned out to be young and male, he and Sienna really would be the ultimate pair of fated enemies or something. She sighed. "You've never even seen Mr. Lawson's face, yet you're holding a lifelong grudge. If we don't want Natalie to win, we'll have to butter up Mr. Lawson and get on his good side. He's one of the competition judges!" Zoe then hacked into the system. "I got it. Mr. Lawson has a business appointment tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Posh Club." Sienna froze and said, "Send me the address." Zoe smirked. "Are you finally ready to get down on your knees and grovel to your mortal enemy?" "Mind your own business," Sienna snapped. Given the current situation, she had no choice but to swallow her pride and approach her sworn rival. Her feelings truly were in a complicated mess. … The next afternoon, Sienna arrived at Posh Club right on time. After countless pep talks to steel her nerves, she finally approached the entrance, only to be stopped disdainfully by a security guard. "Do you have an appointment, Ms. Rhodes?" This was a playground for the elite, a place Sienna could once enter without a second thought. But now, with her cards frozen and her funds depleted, she was just moments away from being thrown out when… "What's going on here? Let her in!" A playful male voice suddenly interrupted. Sienna turned around in surprise. The man who spoke had sharp, almond-shaped eyes and a charming, roguish look. He was strikingly handsome and young. The man froze for a second too when he saw her. Was this person not Sienna Rhodes? He walked over to Sienna, eyeing her with a mix of curiosity and enthusiasm. "Ms. Rhodes, I'm the owner of this club. Who are you here to see?" Sienna looked him over. He seemed like a rich playboy but didn't come off as a bad person. She then replied. "Hello. I'd like to meet Vertex Jewelry's Mr. Lawson. I heard he's here today. Could you introduce me?" Vertex's boss? Was that not L? The man smirked with amusement and deliberately said, "Oh, you want to meet him? Well, Mr. Lawson isn't someone just anyone can meet!" Seeing his reluctance, Sienna asked, "What would it take?" He gave her a knowing look. "You'd need to cater to his unique tastes first. Why don't you change into something more suitable?" Sensing hope, Sienna didn't hesitate and followed a female manager into the dressing room. But when she saw her outfit, she was completely dumbfounded. It was a Playboy Bunny-style ensemble; bunny ears, an ultra-short white blouse with a plunging neckline, and a pleated skirt. What on earth was this? What was this man planning to do with her? Sienna was furious. The man, however, coaxed her with a sly grin. "He's in Room 2022, just ahead." Unwilling to give up, Sienna reluctantly followed him into the room. The man glanced at the empty bed, and then quickly pushed Sienna toward the bathroom door before she could react. He flashed a mischievous grin as she stared at him like a startled rabbit. "Just wait here. I guarantee you'll see him!" Before Sienna could protest, he slipped out and shut the door. "Hey! Why did you lock the door?" Sienna called out, suddenly on high alert. Outside, someone else called out, "Hey, Kyle, what are you sneaking around for? You know how severely sleep-deprived L is. If you disturb him, do you think you'll be able to pay the price?" "L just got married, didn't he? I've delivered him a surprise gift to wake up to! When he sees that, he won't be able to resist! Hehe." Kyle Hall then grinned shamelessly. "He'll thank me for this!" Inside, Sienna nervously surveyed the opulent room, unsure of what to do. She was just about to leave when the bathroom door suddenly swung open. Standing close to the door, she instinctively lost her balance and fell forward—straight into a broad, muscular chest. "Ow!" The man caught her slender waist effortlessly. Sienna jerked her head up, her eyes widening in shock as she froze completely. It was like a scene out of a painting when a breathtaking man had just stepped out of a bath. Standing before her, L was at least six foot two. He had a commanding presence and an impeccably toned physique. Sienna had to crane her neck just to take in his face. For a moment, her mind blanked. It's just that this guy had such incredible looks... His features were stunningly chiseled. He had deep-set eyes, a prominent nose, and thin, perfectly shaped lips. He was, without question, more handsome than any wealthy heir she had ever met. She inhaled sharply. It was hard to believe such perfection existed. L, on the other hand, instinctively touched his face the moment he saw her. His dark eyes narrowed sharply.
