After Sabrina left, Elijah picked up the broken figurines on the floor. The little man in a suit and the woman in a wedding dress who were once holding hands were now separated.
The vase she had thrown had splashed water onto the painting and ruined it. The painting now looked as disfigured as his relationship with her—hideous and twisted.
Standing in the wreckage of his once-pristine living room, Elijah realized his home could never return to the icy emptiness it once had, nor could it go back to when Sabrina had decorated it.
