Meanwhile, William had figured out that being a "good boy" wouldn't keep Sabrina's attention. Today, he was unusually mischievous, clinging to Sabrina's side and refusing to let go.
"Sabrina has to work. Come down now," Nelson told him.
William acted as if he hadn't heard and simply grinned up at Sabrina.
Sabrina hadn't forgotten that Nelson was a client here, so she just smiled and said it was fine.
Of course, Nelson had his own motives too.
William wanted to stay with her—and so did he. So, he indulged William's behavior, allowing himself to savor this fleeting feeling of being a family. But that cozy illusion was shattered later that afternoon.
After lunch, William insisted on napping with Sabrina.
He had just fallen asleep when the front desk called. Apparently, a guest had arrived covered in mud, and with Gerald out, there was no one else to assist.
