Cynthia Dion:
"You— you didn't come here to record me? then why the hell did you walk into the devil's den?" I raised my voice, my fear for her now overwhelming.
I had been terrified for her previously, but the realization that she hadn't come with harmful intentions left me shocked.
"I paid him so I could come here and check on you," she explained, glancing around and gesturing toward the bags she had brought with her—the same items that had flown from her hands when Gary attacked her.
"Why did you want to check on me?" I whispered, my confusion deepening. What was happening? Had I awakened in some alternate dimension?
She had never cared about me before so why all of a suddenly, she was worried about me?
"Cynthia! He—" she paused, visibly restraining herself, before burying her face and continuing, "Atticus has been suffering ever since they put you here." Her one sentence left me breathless.
I watched her face, unsure of how to respond. Her words, though intriguing, posed a dilemma
