I carefully took a few steps forward and spotted the puppy in the corner. Suddenly, Lucky timidly approached me. A moment later, it nudged my feet as though it recognized me. I slowly crouched, reaching out and fumbling until I managed to scoop it into my arms. Tapping my cane against the floor, I made my way out of the house. Oddly enough, Samuel didn't stop me this time. The young Lucky nestled against me as I carried it. I gently stroked its head before placing it in the elevator. Once outside, it trotted ahead of me. Even so, it stopped every few steps to glance back at me. Lucky was probably just over a year old now, likely a trained guide dog Samuel had acquired from someone else. I stopped by a pet store to buy a leash. Then, I posted an adoption notice for Lucky on Instagram. I hoped a family with the right conditions could adopt it.
