Chapter 67
I could see a bunch of people gathered in Laurel’s neighborhood, yelling and protesting with banners that read, “Protest against profiteers!” and “Say no to demolition!”.
I calculated the time. In my previous life, Henry bought a chemical plant and planned to demolish it for development. That happened around half a year into pursuing Laurel.
After my rebirth, the timing of some things changed.
I looked at the gate of the chemical plant in the distance, which covered an area of 80,000 square meters. It used to be well-known in Avonopolis, providing jobs for many nearby and boosting the economy in the area. It turned the desolate area into a bustling suburb.
Except for Henry, no one else dared to acquire this abandoned plant. I looked away and told Lee, “Let’s go.”
Lee continued to drive. In the evening, I arrived at my in-laws’ house.
“Zena? Why didn’t you tell me that you were coming?” My mother-in-law was reading with her glasses on. She was surprised and delighted to see me.
