The next second, Henry snatched the phone from me and warned me, “Don’t touch my phone again.”
As he said that, he lowered his head to unlock his phone and checked the message he had just received. His face darkened because a man like him wasn’t used to rejection. With a single gaze, droves of young women were willing to divorce their husbands to be with him. Yet Laurel turned him down.
Henry suffered a blow to his self-esteem because his charm was challenged.
“Who is she?” I asked knowingly.
“It’s none of your business.” Henry glanced at me irritably.
“If I’m not mistaken, the rest of the message is probably something along the lines of ‘I heard that you’re married, so I hope you can be loyal to your marriage’, right?” I wasn’t angry. I was even proud of my wit.
From what I knew of Laurel, she would definitely say something moral.
Henry sat on the bed and asked coldly, “So what?”
I immediately took out another divorce agreement from the drawer. This time, I tweaked the content
