Chapter 77 - Veil of Dawn

The scenes from the past slowly vanished, vanishing like mist in the early morning light. Ella, Jake, Luna Katherine, and Masque found themselves back in the familiar woods as the visions of Damien's illicit transactions with the rogue wolves faded. Once again, the thick forest foliage encircled them, and they were walking on cool, moist ground. After their time-travel to the past came to an end, they were left with the information they required, but also with more questions. The forest was blanketed in a gentle, golden tint as the first rays of morning peaked through the branches. The forest slowly came alive with the sound of rustling leaves and the distant voices of awakened critters as the birds started singing their morning songs. Luna Katherine cast a quick glance toward the sky, her expression desperate. "The sun is rising, we must hurry," Luna Katherine murmured above the peaceful sounds of the woodland. She reached out and touched Masque's head without thinking twic
