Chapter 178 - Wreck of the Army
As he moved across the camp, the commander looked at each of his fellow soldiers' faces. A few sustained injuries as the unrelenting assault ripped and battered their bodies.
Surprisingly, though, none of them had died. In their eyes, he saw anguish and tiredness, but also a glimmer of perseverance that would not go out.
“Commander” one of the soldiers said weakly, saluting with difficulty staying upright, but the commander gently waved him off
“At ease, soldier. Save your energy. There are still fights for us to win”
He stopped as he moved through the camp to talk to the injured and give them words of encouragement.
Even though he was worn out, his presence gave his people courage. He came to a halt alongside a wounded soldier and knelt down next to him.
"Take heart, soldier. Clean your wounds” the commander said firmly, though his voice carried a note of compassion.
He stood up, looking out over the camp as more soldiers gathered around.
