CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FOUR PLEASE FIGHT FOR US
DAPHNE'S POV
Javion’s eyes followed me, filled with an agonizing mixture of pain and love. “I won’t,” he whispered, his voice barely carrying over the noise of my struggle. “I’ll always fight for you, Daphne.”
Xander’s face was a mask of fury as he watched the scene unfold. “You think you can defy me?” he shouted, stepping closer. “This is what happens when you try to cross me, Daphne. You will learn your place!”
I spat at him, my anger and hatred boiling over. “You’ll never have my love, Xander. Never. I’d rather die than give in to you.”
His eyes flashed with a dangerous light. “We’ll see about that,” he hissed. “Take her away!”
The rogues dragged me through the corridors, my screams echoing off the walls.
My mind was a whirl of panic and fear for Javion. I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving him behind, of him enduring more pain because of me.
