DAPHNE'S POV
“Look at me!” Xander yelled, his voice breaking with frustration. “You can’t throw away everything we’ve had! I’m the one who can be there for you. I’m the one who loves you more than he ever could. You need to see that! You need to be with me!”
I remained silent, my heart heavy with the weight of my own pain. The loss of our child had shattered me, and now, to have this man, who had hurt me so deeply, begging for my love while my husband was imprisoned—it was almost too much to bear.
I was caught between a storm of emotions, my grief for my son mingling with the anguish of losing Javion, and Xander’s pleas were like another cruel twist in this relentless nightmare.
“Don’t make a decision you’ll regret!” Xander’s voice was almost pleading now. “I can give you everything you need. Javion—he’s weak. He’s the reason you’re in this mess. He’s the reason you’re hurting. I’m the one who can make things right!”
