JAVION'S POV
"I’ll find her, somehow.” I stated.
Maya sighed, her expression a mix of sadness and resignation. “I hope you do, Javion. But in the meantime, don’t lose yourself. We need you here.”
I nodded, though my heart wasn’t in it. I turned and walked away, needing to be alone with my thoughts. The packdome felt like a prison now, a place where I was trapped by my own responsibilities.
As I entered my quarters, the silence was deafening. I sank onto the bed, burying my face in my hands. The tears came again, unstoppable and raw.
The memories of Daphne flooded my mind—her smile, her laughter, the way she looked at me with love and trust. And now, the image of her walking away, leaving me behind.
“What kind of alpha am I?” I whispered into the empty room. “What kind of man lets his mate slip through his fingers?”
