Chapter 76
In the living room of Middleton Residence, Oscar's clothes were torn. The feathers from his down jacket scattered across the floor. As the door opened, a gust of wind sent the feathers swirling into the air.
His pants were ripped as well, exposing the deep, raw welts on his legs. Blood seeped into the torn fabric, the sight enough to make anyone wince.
Oscar lay motionless on the floor. His eyes were dull and unfocused, staring blankly toward the entrance.
Trina was crying as she tried to pull him up, but she simply didn't have the strength as Oscar was too tall and too heavy. She struggled a few times but failed.
Exhausted from dealing the beating, Cedric sat on the stairs and lit a cigarette. Wisps of smoke curled around his face, partially obscuring his expression.
Camille tossed her handbag aside. "Aunt Trina, let's lift him together and get him to the couch."
The two of them worked together, dragging Oscar onto the couch. Camille then called the doctor to tend to his injurie
