Chapter Seven: Frenzy

I braced myself for the questions as I drove towards the company.
There were several seas of heads belonging to reporters waiting at the entrance of the building.
I was lucky I hadn't been accosted by them when I left home that morning. Those people could be tenacious.
"There she is!" someone screeched, and all heads turned in my direction as I pulled my car to a halt.
In a twinkling of an eye, my car was surrounded on all sides by reporters, cameras flashing from all ends at me.
I hated this. Although I had planned to communicate with them and denounce the claims about my marrying Trevor Lawrence circulating on the internet, the manner in which they had surrounded me like bees had turned me off.
Their questions were like torrents, pelting me without a break.
Their sounds made a cacophony; I couldn't process any of what they were saying. They were all talking over one another, their voices making my head ache.
