CHAPTER 48
As I sat on a bench in the park, I realized just how boring my day had become and how centralized my life had been around Connor. Maybe I should get another job?
I would have gone to Jojo but she was still mad at me and wouldn't speak with me. It was frustrating and I decided to give her a break until she came around.
I watched a group of kids play and I smiled to myself, recalling the moments at the orphanage.
I felt the pressure of another weight on the bench and I turned my head briefly to see a young woman with a scarf covering her head, causing half of her face to hide. I looked away again and continued to watch the playing children.
"I know who you are, Kenzie Seattle." The mysterious woman's voice came, calculated and cautious and my whole being stops in a second. I looked at her again and she gently began to untie her scarf. When she did, the scarf fell to her lap and I pushed back a gasp with a hand flying to my mouth.
"Hello, Kenzie," Kelly said with her lips twisted awk
