Days after Elaine cooked, Mary came visiting, and though Elaine knew that she wasn't there for anything good, but still, she sat down with Richard, watching them having a convo in the living room.  "I'm sure Elaine hasn't cooked a thing in this house since the last time she did in the other house." Mary said randomly, and threw a scornful look at her from across the living room.  Elaine swallowed and lowered her gaze, waiting to hear Richie defending her because she was sure that he would do just that. "Um, mom. Elaine actually cooked days ago. It was okay, but not like the way she used to make the meals. It was….different. " He said, and looked at Elaine. Elaine's heart skipped, wondering what he was saying. He has said that he liked her cooking that day, so what was he saying now?  "I said it! I knew she was always a bad cook!" Mary jubilated, and threw her hands up. Elaine looked at Richard once again before standing. He tried stopping her from leaving, but she moved his hands away.
