Linda gave Hannah a contemptuous look and remarked, "You don't have the right to talk to me like that, Hannah. You'll always be beneath me, whether in the past or now."
Hannah glared back, her eyes filled with defiance. If glares could kill, Linda would be long gone.
"I've been through hell and back. I'm not a coward, unlike you guys," Linda declared.
"Linda, you'll regret this!" Hannah threatened, unwilling to back down.
"We'll see about that," Linda replied, not bothering to look back as she walked away with her glass of grape juice.
Enraged, Hannah waited until Linda entered the elevator before pulling out her phone and making a call. She said menacingly, "I'm in. You better fulfill your promise."
The person on the line chuckled. "Ms. Hannah, relax. She's our common foe. Why wouldn't I keep my word?"
"What do you need from me?" Hannah asked.
"Some things are better said in person. We need to meet face to face."
