Chapter 33
Mr. Johnson was stunned for a moment, and he thought he had misheard Jackson. Jackson glared at him, saying, “Tell the higher-ups in the television station that they can get our sponsor but only if they replace Sandra Willis and get her to do odd jobs!”
Mr. Johnson came out of Jackson’s office with the contract, looking aggrieved. When he was in the corridor, he ran into James. “Mr. Larson, you have to help me!” Mr. Johnson stopped James and said, “Mr. Miller agreed to this sponsorship but he suddenly changed his mind. What am I going to tell the television station?”
James shook his head and patted Mr. Johnson’s shoulder to comfort him. “There’s no rhyme or reason when it comes to Mr. Miller. You should do exactly as you’re told.”
Mr. Johnson sighed. Indeed, he could not argue with Jackson with reason. However, the sponsorship for the television station had been a favor from his old friend.
