Chapter 8: Guys, Don't Hesitate

Olivia smiled nonchalantly, "Take a look at this first." She took out her phone and played a video. It was footage from the incident at the Conley residence that day. Someone had recorded it. Hillary vehemently denied any connection with the Hampton family. The man was confused. "Why are you showing me this?" "I want to tell you all that Hillary is no longer considered a part of our family. If she borrows money in the name of the Hampton family in the future, and you lend it to her and then come to me, I will report it to the police." Olivia's eyes showed no warmth. "We are talking about Julia, not Hillary!" The man was furious. "Are you trying to stall?" "Take it easy," Olivia said leisurely. "Next, let's talk about Julia. She became my father's second wife, but she doesn't hold any shares in the company nor does she have any position. She doesn't have the ability to repay any loans you give her. If you lend her money and she can't pay it back in the future, it's your own fault. It has nothing to do with me. Got it?" The man was getting more and more confused. "You all must keep this in mind," warned Olivia to the people behind. "We don't care. We just want the money!" the man said angrily. "Take it easy," Olivia said with a meaningful smile. "Next, let's talk about this loan agreement. It was Julia who signed it with you, so you should be going to her instead of me. If you keep bothering me, I can call the police." "But she lives here, and this is her home," the man said aggressively. "If I don't come here, where else should I find her?" "You're right. This is her home," Olivia sneered. "But she only has the right to live here, not the right to buy or sell. The house is owned by the company, so I think you should consult a lawyer about this." The man continued, "So what? That means you can dodge paying back the debt?" "Let me make it clear. I am not the one who borrowed the money. If I owed you, I could repay you. But Julia is not my biological mother. I have no obligation to help her repay the money." Olivia squinted her eyes. "However, I agree with you about asking her to repay the money, but I also know that she can't afford to pay it back." "If she can't pay, then we will go in and take things!" the man threatened. "You can go in and take things, but I am telling you that this is not her home alone. Can you guarantee that the things you take belong to her and not to me?" Olivia's eyes turned cold. "If you take my things, I can call the police and arrest you. Do you know how many years in prison you can get for burglary? Be careful not to have a criminal record!" The man didn't know what to say. Someone in the crowd shouted, "What do you suggest then?" "If you listen to me, I can make Julia pay back this money to you," Olivia looked at them with a faint smile. "What solution?" the man asked. "Didn't I just say? As long as you don't take my things, it has nothing to do with me," Olivia smiled. "Simply put, you can go in, and empty Julia's and her daughter's rooms. As long as you don't destroy the furniture that belongs to our family, you can take away the remaining jewelry, clothes, and designer bags. The things in their room are enough to compensate for the three million dollars. How about it?" The man sized Olivia up. "Can we trust your words?" "The loan agreement is in your hands. If I'm wrong, you can go to the police station." Olivia shrugged. "But let me tell you again. Julia doesn't have the money to pay you back. If you keep harassing her, you'll end up with nothing." The man thought for a moment. "Alright. If you let us in and the things are enough to cover the money she owed us, I'll give you this loan agreement." "No problem!" Olivia smiled. "Come in with me." The man led the others and followed her inside. The maid glanced at the group of people in front of her and her vision darkened. "Miss." "I know you're Julia's lackey." Olivia remained calm. "I'm keeping you around because you only have been monitoring my and my father's every move, without any intention of harm." The maid felt embarrassed. "Miss, I haven't done anything harmful." "I know," Olivia questioned, "Did you call Julia or not?" "Yes, I did. She said the Hampton family is already in a precarious position, and if this group of people gets involved, it will definitely have an impact on the company, so you will give them the money," the maid answered. "Alright," Olivia instructed, "When she calls again, tell her this group of people hasn't left yet, and I'm about to settle the score with her. Advise her not to come back to avoid getting caught up in the crossfire." "Yes," the maid nodded awkwardly. "If you do it well, I'll give you a sum of money so you can retire," Olivia said indifferently. "But remember, if you betray me, I know where your son and daughter go to school and work." "I won't say anything out of line." The maid was startled. "Good. Take these people with you to Hillary's room and have them clear out everything. I'll take the rest of the people to Julia's room. Let's move," Olivia commanded. The maid dared not ask too many questions and brought a few people to Hillary's room. Olivia brought a few people to Julia's room. She pushed the door open. "As long as you don't damage the decorations here, you can move everything else as you like." The man walked into the walk-in closet. He recognized some logos and knew that everything here was a designer brand, especially those designer bags, which would be worth a lot even if sold secondhand. "Guys, don't hesitate. Start moving!" The man rolled up his sleeves. "But be careful not to damage anything." "Yes!" These people started working together. Olivia stood at the door with her arms crossed, watching them go in and out. These people were busy and sweating, but they were efficient. They moved half of the items in just ten minutes. The man made a phone call and called a few more cars. It took them half an hour, and in the end, there was nothing left in Julia's and Hillary's rooms. Except for the household furnishings, nothing was left, even half of the cosmetics were taken away. The man wiped his sweat and walked up to Olivia, saying, "This is the loan agreement." Olivia took it and asked indifferently, "How did Julia borrow money from you back then?" "She said it was for her daughter's engagement ceremony," the man replied. "She also said that the Hampton family would repay the money in the future. We survive by doing this kind of business, so we will lend her the money without a doubt, especially knowing she is part of the Hampton family." Olivia frowned. "You guys seem familiar to me. Weren't you the ones who were at the company's entrance last time?" "We know each other, but we are not together," the man explained. "Julia borrowed a lot of money in the name of the Hampton family." Olivia gathered her brows into a frown. What a cunning Julia! "You have repaid this money, but there are still a few more debts to come," the man shrugged. "You'll be in trouble in the future."
