Loid didn't believe Lily for a second, not when she looked so borderline murderous.
As if reading Loid's mind, Lily elaborated, "I didn't sleep well last night."
"Did your insomnia act up again?" Loid asked grimly.
He knew Lily was an insomniac, but her condition hadn't been serious before. However, she seemed to be losing sleep ever since Belinda's passing.
At first, Loid thought her losing sleep was part of her grieving. But now, it seemed she was losing sleep because of her worsening insomnia.
Lily hummed tiredly in response. She leaned into her seat, her eyes fluttering close. "Yeah, but it's nothing new. I'll be fine."
Yolanda was furious that Lily and Loid were so lost in their conversation that they treated her as if she were invisible. Still, she leashed her temper and stayed quiet in the backseat.
Halfway through the drive, Lily suddenly opened her eyes and said, "They should reach soon."
Naturally, Loid knew who she was referring to.
