Chapter Sixty-Five - Willow
My wolf was on edge the entire night. I felt her pushing me to leave the pack lands and trail the warriors.
It was uncanny. Disrespectful to Chase who asked me to stay and a punishment from the Alpha King. She had no sense of consequences when it came to finding the rogue pack. She had tunnel vision and it was blinding at times.
When nighttime came, Chase and I ate in the dining hall with all of the other pack members. The anticipation of hearing back from the rogue back had me on my toes.
However, I didn’t ask Chase because I knew it would worry him. He thought I couldn’t fight my wolf. I could. Most of the time I didn’t want to fight her.
Chase and I spent the evening in his office. I studied some of my mother’s notes on becoming a Luna, while he managed to get caught up on paperwork.
“You’ve been quiet tonight,” he said after hours of silence.
