Realizing Jay was genuinely angry, Lauren knew there would be consequences if she continued.
She clenched her teeth and lowered her head to the two children. "I'm sorry, kids. It was my fault. Please forgive me."
'Damn it! I must not lose my guard before figuring things out.'
Lauren would never let the children stay around if those children had turned out to be Zora's.
After Lauren left, Jay turned to Nina.
Suddenly, Nina put on a cold expression and held Casper's hand. "I'm sorry, Uncle. We don't wanna eat anymore. We'd like to go home."
Jay was taken aback. Considering the incident that had just occurred, he understood that the children might have been frightened. "Alright, I'll take you home."
"It's okay. We'll get home on our own."
Nina pulled Casper's hands and rushed off.
Watching that happen, Roger was puzzled. "Mr. Sullivan, how could they leave just like that?"
