Chapter 50
Alexander was still upset over the issue with his mother’s ring, but remembering how emotional Olivia was when she left, he couldn’t help but worry. So he picked up the ring and followed her out. He left, hoping that he wasn’t too late. When he stepped out of the apartment building, he saw Olivia leaving the community.
Remembering her expression, he figured that there must be more to the story and he probably shouldn’t have attacked her without knowing all the facts. Maybe she really didn’t sell the ring, as he suspected.
Alexander followed behind her all the way till she arrived at the pawnshop. He frowned when he saw the sign on the store and stood at the entrance to listen to their conversation.
“Hey, what did you do to my ring?!” Olivia asked angrily. When she remembered the way Alexander thought she had sold it, she felt angry all over again. Her hazel eyes had become dark with anger.
“What are you talking about? Didn’t I give it back to you after cleaning it?” the shop owner aske
