Chapter 37
Robert was on the floor groaning in pain while Olivia immediately rushed into Alexander’s arms. He looked at her dishevelled appearance and shrugged off the jacket he was wearing and put it over her shoulders before holding her.
“For your own safety, I would advise you to get out,” Alexander said to Robert, who was still on the floor. He had taken one of the vases from the corridor and smashed it on Robert’s head. Afraid of killing him? How could he be scared? He was a child of the Maxwell family and Olivia was their daughter-in-law. If left to those tigers, Robert wouldn’t even have any bones left to bury.
Robert felt a warm liquid run down the side of his face and when he wiped it, he saw that it was bright red blood. Robert felt his rationality snap when he realised he was bleeding and got up from the ground with eyes bloodshot from anger.
He looked Alexander up and down and saw that besides being a bit good looking; he didn’t seem like much from his shabby clothing.
