403 A New Name
Mariah walked down to the stranger's room with her first aid box in hand. It was about time to change his bandage. She knocked at his door and then pushed it open. Aiden stood up when she walked in.
"How are you feeling today?" Mariah asked as she dropped the first-aid box on the table close to his bed. "Oh, I'm sorry, you don't speak."
Aiden, who still didn't remember anything yet, shoved his hand through his hair in distress over his memory gap. "I'm feeling better," he said softly, his throat feeling raw from lack of use.
Mariah's eyes widened. "Amazing. You found your vocal cords." She patted a spot on the bed for Aiden to sit on, and he did so.
"Yes. I'm sorry for remaining silent. Everything feels different and confusing," Aiden confessed.
Mariah loosened the bandage around his head and started cleaning the wound. "So, what do you remember? "Do you know who you are?" she asked.
"Um," Aiden closed his eyes tightly as if trying to force his brain to provide the answers. "I do
