Luke folded his hand to the back as he stood before the frowning board members. When he received an email saying there was an urgent meeting, he knew immediately that the board was getting increasingly impatient and his time was running out. He would lose the company's money, sweat and blood if he couldn't find the culprit.
He cleared his throat before he spoke, summoning his courage. "I understand you all are in need of answers, but I assure you, I'm getting close."
"That's all we keep hearing," Mrs. Cartwright snapped. Excuses and excuses; there is no proof of you even trying."
Luke turned his attention to her. "But Elsa, I am trying more than you can ever imagine. Millions of dollars were siphoned out of the company's account; do you think the culprit will walk up to me and confess?" She scoffed as she looked away, not listening to his excuses.
