‘Hey, you already helped plenty.’
At least Harper’s story confirmed what Elodie had suspected all along: Sebastian and Cyrus weren’t the masterminds behind her parents’ deaths; there was someone else pulling the puppet strings.
Harper asked, ‘What are you going to do now?’
Elodie shrugged. ‘I’ll figure out a way. Thanks for telling me this, but I don’t want you to get mixed up in all this mess. You should focus on work. Autumn fashion week’s a month away. I hope you’re ready.’
‘That’s it?’ Harper clasped her hands together. ‘What about… If what my dad and Uncle Seb said was true, then you and I, we are not…’
‘Not what? Not cousins?’
