Dimitric heard his words. ‘Mr Kelsey, what’s done is done. Your friends made their choices, and now, you must make yours.’
Andre knew Dimitric was right.
He had to put his emotions aside and do what was necessary to stay alive.
But it didn’t make the weight on his shoulders any lighter.
A long plane ride and a two-hour drive later, a car pulled up outside the police station.
Andre took a deep breath, steeling himself for what lay ahead.
‘Here we are, Mr Kelsey,’ Dimitric said, his voice devoid of emotion. ‘You know what to do.’

The walk to the entrance felt like a march to the gallows.

Andre stopped and turned back mechanically.
‘Remember, confess to everything. Keep Mr Albrecht’s name out of it. It’s your only chance to stay alive.’
