The stale air of the cabin hung heavy as moonlight sliced through the boarded windows, illuminating Delilah slumped on the cot. Her face, a near-perfect copy of Mariana's, remained slack. Weeks of captivity had passed.
Tiago had kept her unconscious with a steady stream of sedatives, since she was discovered and captured for her role in Mariana’s kidnapping and the penthouse rooftop incident.
The moon cast a glow on the dusty path leading to the secluded cabin as Tiago, Lorenzo, and Conrad emerged from the main house of Castillo Alvor. A comfortable silence settled between them.
Reaching the cabin door, Tiago found a single guard, his back ramrod straight, keeping vigil. "Any changes?" Tiago inquired, his voice clipped.
