“Unknown vehicle approaching,” one of the guards called.
“How many?” I growled, eyes darting towards the gate.
“Only one.”
I frowned. It has been quiet for most of the night. Lucas left me to deal with the families of the men we lost. I guessed it was better than me having to deal with Mother and Sutton.
They had been gone for hours and I was starting to worry. But I knew that if something happened to them, I would have felt it. Nate had been set on negotiating things which was probably why it was taking so long.
“The dogs want to check things out.”
I jerked in fright, eyes snapping to my left. “Where the hell did you come from?”
