I clung to Nate’s hand as we hurried towards the castle.
The gates slammed closed behind us, once again cutting us off from the town’s people. An argument had broken out while we were entering the courtyard.
That must have been what Prince Maurice meant when he said things were about to get interesting.
Mason’s fingers dug into my hip slightly as we followed Lucas.
Prince Maurice was walking next to him, strangely silent. It would be so easy to forget his presence if he continued to remain silent.
He was an interesting man and if my theory was correct, maybe he could help us fix everything before more people got hurt.
Lucas led the way to his office. He opened the door and waited for all of us to enter before he closed it firmly behind us.
Nate squeezed my hand and let go.
